Worry Eaters

So, this past week when on a course, we briefly saw a 'worry eater'. We'd never seen one before and we instantly realised once finding out more about it that this would be a great hit with some of our higher functioning kiddos.

This is a worry eater and you can get them pretty much anywhere - eBay, Amazon, toy stores etc.

They come in a variety of different sizes and styles so you can have multiple different ones or just a main one. The idea is that the zip opens up and closes as the mouth.

Then, students write down their worry and put it into the worry eater. These worries can then either be discussed individually if students write their name or it can be done as an end of the day worry group session, where all the class takes part.

It's a great way to support students, help them with their anxieties/worries and to encourage other students to look after each other too!

How would you use a worry eater in your class?
