Sunday Seller Spotlight: Creative Curriculum Adaptions

Welcome to my Seller Spotlight Sunday.
Every Sunday on my blog there is a guest post from another fabulous TpT Seller. They will be sharing one free resource from their store, one paid resource from their store and something that they have been up to that week or similar!

So, don't forget to check back every Sunday or sign up for my email list to get notifications of new sellers!

Up this week is Ginger Joyce from Creative Curriculum Adaptions!

Hello! I’m Ginger Joyce from Creative Curriculum Adaptations. I live and work in beautiful southern California.

I have experience as a special education teacher, instructional coach, administrator, consultant, and part-time university faculty. Currently, I have the privilege of supporting and coaching new teachers entering the field of special education.

I believe all students should have access to a rich and meaningful curriculum with rigor and high expectations. As a former classroom teacher of students with autism and intellectual disabilities, I know well the challenge special education teachers face trying to find and create curriculum that is differentiated and engaging for every student.

I began my TpT journey in August, 2015, and I am loving every minute! I feel so fortunate to connect with teachers from all over the world through TpT. The most popular resources in my store are by far my adapted books. I use colorful graphics and picture-supported text to engage even the earliest of readers. This past month I have been spending time coaching a new special education teacher in a PreK-2 classroom. We have been working on adding structure to the classroom and developing curriculum supports to meet the diverse needs of her students.

One focus has been on interactive activities that build vocabulary, sight words, and comprehension skills. Here are some of the books and activities we will be doing this month as we learn about snowmen, winter clothing, body parts, and colors.

Adapted book: Snowman's Winter Clothes

Sorting Winter Clothes by Color: "I can wear (color)."

Sorting Winter clothes by corresponding body part: On my (body part).

Sentence Builders: Snowman's Winter Clothes.
